January 6, 2025 Applications are now being accepted to the BC Superior Courts Judicial Law Clerk Program for the 2026-2027 clerkship term. The deadline for applications is Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 am.
Video conference interviews with legal counsel to be scheduled in early February and final interviews with judges to be scheduled March 3 to 7 (Court of Appeal) and March 10 to March 14 (Supreme Court).

NEW PRACTICE DIRECTIVE - APPEARING BEFORE THE COURT
The Court of Appeal has updated its Practice Directive, Appearing before the Court, to clarify its expectations for counsel’s attire in chambers.
"The Court recognizes the choice of business attire may vary, including to reflect one’s ethnicity, culture, faith or gender identity, or to accommodate a pregnancy or disability."

JUDICIAL RETIREMENT - MR. JUSTICE PETER G. VOITH
On February 21, 2025, the Honourable Mr. Justice Peter Voith retired from the Court of Appeal for British Columbia and the Court of Appeal of Yukon. Justice Voith was appointed to the BC Supreme Court on January 22, 2009 and to the Court of Appeal on September 9, 2020. Prior to his judicial appointment, Justice Voith was consistently recognized as one of the leading practitioners in commercial and public law. Throughout his career, he has been involved with various access to justice initiatives and legal, judicial, and community education programs. Justice Voith has made remarkable contributions to the legal profession and to the public over the course of a rich and fulfilling career. The Court extends its gratitude to Justice Voith for his tireless contributions and generous spirit.
