Online Booking for Hearings in Vancouver
Chambers applications and appeals in Vancouver are booked online. Please review the information below before using this tool. To access the online booking service, please follow this link:

Appeals
- A civil appeal may be booked after the appellant’s factum has been filed and served, and a copy of the Supreme Court Order has been entered and provided to the registry.
- A conviction or sentence appeal may be booked after the appeal book/ transcript is filed.
- About 90% of appeals are booked for a half or full day and commence at 10am or 2pm. Requests for more than one day are subject to review by the Registrar and must be scheduled by phone. Before booking, parties are encouraged to agree on dates. A preview of available dates may be found here.
- Counsel must gown for appeal hearings.
Broadcast of Appeals
- All appeals are to be broadcast subject to Section 2.2 of the Court of Appeal’s Record and Courtroom Access Policy.
- Those scheduling appeals must submit the Public Broadcast of Appeals form. For civil appeals, the form is submitted with the notice of hearing. For criminal appeals, the form is submitted by the respondent when filing their factum or statement. Copies of this form may be found on the forms page or located here.
Chambers Hearings
- A chambers application may be booked prior to filing the applicable notice of application and materials by following the steps set out in the Practice Directive for Chambers Applications.
- Please observe the time limit to file and serve the notice of application and materials as set out in the Court of Appeal Rules. Failure to file the applicable documents within the time limit may result in cancellation of the chambers hearing.
- Counsel do not gown for chambers hearings.
Booking Other Hearings
- Application to Vary or Cancel an Order of a Justice (Civil Rule 62)
An application to vary or cancel an order of a Justice is heard by a division of the Court (3 Judges). A hearing may be booked after the applicant’s application book is filed and served. To schedule a hearing, please call the Associate Registrar using the contact information below.
