CIVIL RULE REFORM CONSULTATION PAPER - CALL FOR RESPONSES

The Court has compiled a discussion paper on civil rule reform available here, which includes all of the ideas and suggestions made by members of the public, litigants, judges, lawyers, and Court administrative staff. As the rule reform process continues, the Court would appreciate hearing your reaction to the specific ideas raised in this paper.  Which proposals have merit in your view?  Are there other ideas not captured by these proposals that you would like to see considered? Your feedback is critical to ensure the right changes are being contemplated by the Rules Committee. Please provide your submissions via email at BCCACivilRules@courts.gov.bc.ca by March 18, 2016. Anonymous submissions may be delivered to the Court of Appeal Registry, care of the Registrar.

JUDICIAL LAW CLERK PROGRAM - 2017-2018

Applications are now being accepted to the Judicial Law Clerk Program for 2017-2018. The deadline for applications is Friday, January 22, 2016 at 3:00 pm PST, with interviews to be scheduled throughout February and March, 2016. SPECIAL SITTING - THE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE EDWARD CHIASSON

The Honourable Chief Justice Robert J. Bauman would like to advise that there will be a special sitting of the Court of Appeal for BC and Yukon in honour of Mr. Justice Edward Chiasson on his retirement. The special sitting will be held on Friday, 27 November 2015 at 4:15 p.m. in Courtroom 60 of the Vancouver Law Courts, 800 Smithe Street, Vancouver, BC.
