The Annual Report of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia covering the activities of the Court for 2021 is now available.

RETURN TO IN-PERSON OR HYBRID REMOTE/IN-PERSON HEARINGS
Beginning 14 February 2022, appeal hearings and chambers proceedings will take place in person in the courtroom, unless individual parties apply or elect to appear remotely. As was the case prior to December 20, 2021, parties will again need to request permission to appear remotely for appeals and may elect to appear remotely for chambers. All remote appearances will be on the Zoom platform.

JUDICIAL LAW CLERK PROGRAM RECRUITMENT FOR THE 2023 - 2024 TERM - APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED
The Application deadline for the Judicial Law Clerk Program for the 2023-2024 term has been extended to Friday, January 21, 2021 at 3:00 pm Pacific Time. If you are experiencing delays obtaining official law school or undergraduate transcripts, you may submit an unofficial copy of your transcripts and include a note that an official copy has been requested and will be provided when available. If your unofficial transcripts for the September to December 2021 term are not available before the extended deadline of Friday January 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm Pacific time, please note that on your application and submit an unofficial transcript as soon as it becomes available. Please ensure that you submit all other portions of your application materials (including your cover letter, resume and transcripts that are available) by email on or before the extended application deadline of Friday January 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm Pacific time.
Video conference interviews will take place between February 2-11 and February 28 to March 4, 2022.

VIDEOCONFERENCE COURT PROCEEDINGS
Effective January 4, 2022, the Chief Justice of British Columbia directed that all appeal and chambers proceedings take place remotely, unless otherwise directed. The Notice Regarding Court of Appeal Procedures and Access to Court Proceedings during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Notice to the Public Regarding Appearing by Video have been updated to incorporate this direction. Counsel and litigants must complete and submit the updated Court Proceedings Form at least ten (10) business days before the appeal hearing. For chambers hearings the Court Proceedings Form must be submitted together with the notice of motion, or, in the case of a responding party, together with any response to the application, at least two (2) business days before the chambers proceeding takes place.

Mr. Justice Tysoe has retired from the Court of Appeal effective January 1, 2022.
