NOTICE - ONLINE BOOKING OF TRIAL MANAGEMENT CONFERENCES - SEPTEMBER 2019
On September 9, 2019, the Supreme Court will begin a pilot project for counsel and parties to have the option of booking Trial Management Conferences (TMCs) online. The practice of booking TMCs by telephone through the Scheduling staff will continue concurrently for the time being. Please see the Supreme Court Scheduling page under the section Online Request Forms: Online Booking for Trial Management Conferences.

This event will take place in the Great Hall at the Vancouver Law Courts at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. There will be approximately 203 candidates being called to the Bar. The ceremony will be conducted by The Honourable Mr. Justice William G.E. Grist in the morning and the Honourable Madam Justice Miriam A. Maisonville in the afternoon.

The Supreme Court of British Columbia announces that the Honourable Mr. Justice Crawford retired from the Supreme Court of British Columbia at New Westminster on August 15, 2019. Mr. Justice Crawford was appointed to the Supreme Court on September 27, 2001.

The Supreme Court of British Columbia announces that Master McDiarmid retired from the Supreme Court of British Columbia at Kamloops on July 31, 2019. Master McDiarmid was appointed to the position of Master of the Supreme Court on June 1, 2011.Â

UPDATED - WAIVER OR ADJOURNMENT FORM
There has been an update to the Waiver or Adjournment form for use in detention review proceedings under s. 525 of the Criminal Code. The update is to require that the form be delivered to the Detention Review Coordinator by 4:00 pm the day before the Scheduling Hearing. The form is available on the website under the heading “Section 525 Detention Review” in the Practice Directions - Criminal section. Please also refer to CPD-4: Interim Procedure for Detention Reviews Under s. 525 of the Criminal Code for information regarding the detention review process.
