A Welcoming Ceremony for the Honourable Madam Justice Norell will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the New Westminster Law Courts in Courtroom 209 at 4:30 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend the Welcoming Ceremony.

CALL AND ADMISSION CEREMONY - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2018
This event will take place in the Great Hall at the Vancouver Law Courts. There will be approximately 206 candidates being called to the Bar. The presiding Judge for the morning ceremony at 9:30 am will be The Honourable Mr. Justice E. David Crossin and for the afternoon ceremony at 1:30 pm, Mr. Justice Nathan H. Smith.

JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS
The Supreme Court of British Columbia welcome the appointments of Mr. Justice Christopher J. Giaschi and Madam Justice Karen Horsman to Vancouver. For more information about the Supreme Court's newest justices, please see the press release issued by the Department of Justice. Public welcoming ceremonies for our new justices will be held on a date to be scheduled. Information about the welcoming ceremonies will be posted on the court's website once it is available.

NEW AN-16 SETS REQUIREMENTS FOR VEXATIOUS LITIGANTS SEEKING LEAVE
Registrar Cameron has today issued a new Administrative Notice, AN-16, which outlines the process that persons who have been declared vexatious litigants must follow to request leave of the Court to initiate new proceedings or file materials within existing proceedings.

The Supreme Court of British Columbia has an opening for the position of Master. The position is in Vancouver. Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter in accordance with the posting instructions by September 7, 2018.

JUDICIAL RETIREMENT - HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE FRANK W. COLE
The Supreme Court of British Columbia announces that the Honourable Mr. Justice Cole retired from the Supreme Court of British Columbia at Vancouver on July 8, 2018. Mr. Justice Cole was appointed to the Supreme Court on March 19, 1996.
