The Supreme Court of British Columbia welcomes the appointment of the Honourable Madam Justice Heather J. Holmes, a judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, as Associate Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia effective immediately. NEW SUPREME COURT PUBLICATION BAN INITIATIVE
The Supreme Court has developed a “Publication Ban Pick List” and “Publication Ban Template Order” to address difficulties in obtaining complete information regarding the scope of publication bans in criminal proceedings. The Pick List and Template Order are located on the website under the Publication Bans tab.

JUDICIAL RETIREMENT - HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE PAUL J. PEARLMAN
The Supreme Court of British Columbia announces that the Honourable Mr. Justice Pearlman retired from the Supreme Court of British Columbia at Vancouver on May 7, 2018. Mr. Justice Pearlman was appointed to the Supreme Court on January 31, 2008.

NEW FORMS FOR ACCREDITED MEDIA TO REQUEST ACCESS TO COURT EXHIBITS AND SPECIFIED COURT RECORDS
The Supreme Court has developed three new forms for use by accredited media to facilitate requests for access to court exhibits, and requests for access to specified court records in criminal proceedings. The new forms are located on the website under the Media tab.

The Welcoming Ceremony for the Honourable Mr. Justice Basran, the Honourable Madam Justice MacDonald, the Honourable Madam Justice Baker and the Honourable Madam Justice Matthews will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Vancouver Law Courts Great Hall at 4:15 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend the Welcoming Ceremony.

CALL AND ADMISSION CEREMONY - FRIDAY, APRIL 6, 2018
This event will take place in the Great Hall at the Vancouver Law Courts at 2:30 pm. There will be approximately 95 candidates being called to the Bar. The presiding Judge will be The Honourable Mr. Justice E. David Crossin.
