RELOCATION OF MR. JUSTICE PUNNETT TO VICTORIA - DECEMBER 12, 2016
Effective December 12, 2016, Mr. Justice Punnett is relocated from Prince Rupert to Victoria as resident judge of the Supreme Court. Mr. Justice Punnett replaces Mr. Justice Johnston of Victoria who elected supernumerary status on December 12, 2016. This will leave a vacancy in Prince Rupert for the present time.

Murray and the Honourable Madam Justice Joyce DeWitt-Van Oosten will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017, in the Great Hall at the Vancouver Law Courts at 4:15 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend the Welcoming Ceremony.

The Supreme Court of British Columbia welcomes the appointment of three justices to Vancouver: the Honourable Madam Justice Heather MacNaughton, the Honourable Madam Justice Catherine A. Murray and the Honourable Madam Justice Joyce DeWitt-Van Oosten. Public welcoming ceremonies for our new justices will be held on a date to be scheduled. Information about the welcoming ceremonies will be posted on the court’s website once it is available.
