The Supreme Court of British Columbia announces that the Honourable Madam Justice Bruce retired from the Supreme Court of British Columbia at Vancouver on September 23, 2016. Madam Justice Bruce was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2006. Â

JUDICIAL RETIREMENT - THE HONOURABLE MADAM JUSTICE WENDY G. BAKER
The Supreme Court of British Columbia announces that the Honourable Madam Justice Baker retired from the Supreme Court of British Columbia at Vancouver on August 31, 2016. Madam Justice Baker was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993.

The Welcoming Ceremony for the Honourable Master Sandra L. Dick will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Nanaimo Law Courts in Courtroom 232 at 4:30 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend the Welcoming Ceremony.

THE HONOURABLE WILLIAM A. ESSON
The Court recognizes the passing of the Honourable William Arthur Esson who died on 14 July 2016. Appointed a judge in 1979, former Chief Justice Esson spent 26 years on the bench, serving twice on both the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal, including seven years as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. On his retirement in 2006 at the age of 75, former Chief Justice Esson was honoured with a Special Sitting of both Courts.
