The Supreme Court is pleased to announce an enhancement to our website:Â an RSS feed for publication ban orders issued by the Supreme Court.Â
The new RSS feed will allow subscribers to receive information about publication ban orders issued by the court rather than having to visit our site. To subscribe to the publication ban order RSS feed, please click here and click on the orange RSS button or copy the URL into your reader.

POLICY ON THE USE OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN COURTROOMS - SEPTEMBER 17, 2012
Effective 17 September 2012, the Policy on Use of Electronic Devices in Courtrooms, a joint policy of the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court and the Provincial Court will take effect. The Policy on Use of Electronic Devices in Courtrooms permits accredited journalists and lawyers to use electronic devices to send or receive text in the courtrooms of the Supreme Court and the Provincial Court unless directed otherwise by the court or other judicial officer. In the Court of Appeal, a more permissive policy will be in place which also allows members of the public to use electronic devices to send or receive text. The press release announcing the new policy is attached.

EXTENSION OF GRACE PERIOD FOR ACCEPTANCE OF REPEALED FORMS - JULY 27, 2012
Chief Justice Bauman has issued a Direction to the Registry which extends a grace period during which Supreme Court registries will accept Supreme Court Civil Forms and Supreme Court Family Forms which were repealed by Order in Council 192. The grace period has been extended to October 31, 2012.

PD-36 - CONSENT ORDER TO WAIVE TRIAL MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE- SEPTEMBER 4, 2012
Chief Justice Bauman has issued PD-36 - Consent Order to Waive Trial Management Conference which describes the procedure whereby parties may apply for a consent order waiving the requirement for a trial management. PD-36 - Consent Order to Waive Trial Management Conference takes effect on September 4, 2012.
