Judicial Appointments - June 24, 2011
The Supreme Court of British Columbia welcomes the appointment of the Honourable Mr. Justice D. Allan Betton, a judge of the Provincial Court of British Columbia, to Kelowna and the appointment of the Honourable Mr. Justice Kenneth N. Affleck to Vancouver. Mr. Justice Betton and Mr. Justice Affleck were appointed to fill vacancies created when Mr. Justice Brooke and Mr. Justice Cole elected supernumerary status.

The Welcoming Ceremony for Master McDiarmid will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Kamloops Law Courts at 4:00 p.m. in Courtroom 5D. Members of the public are invited to attend the Welcoming Ceremony.

New Practice Directions - June 30, 2011
Chief Justice Bauman issued PD - 29 - Model Companies Creditors Arrangement Act Initial Order and PD-30 - Model Receivership Order yesterday. Both PD - 29 and PD - 30 take effect on June 30, 2011. The purpose of these practice directions is to direct the use of model orders for certain proceedings and to make it easier for the parties and the court to focus on the issues that are in dispute. With the issuance of these practices directions, PD - 15 - Model Companies Creditors Arrangement Act Initial Order and PD-16 - Model Receivership Order are rescinded.

Notice: Master Appointments
The Supreme Court of British Columbia welcomes the appointment of Master Robert McDiarmid to Kamloops and Master Heather MacNaughton to Vancouver. Master McDiarmid and Master MacNaughton will begin sitting effective June 1, 2011. Administrative Notice 9 - Bankruptcy Proceedings before the Registrar - August 1, 2011
Chief Justice Bauman issued AN-9 - Bankruptcy Proceedings Before the Registrar which is designed to standardize bankruptcy hearing practice throughout the province. AN-9 takes effect on August 1, 2011.

the following courthouses:
Victoria - Courtroom 401
Prince George - Courtroom 307
Kelowna - Courtroom 1
The Special Sitting will commence at 4:15 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Vancouver Law Courts. Members of the public are welcome to attend in person in Vancouver or by video link from Victoria, Prince George or Kelowna.
