NOTICE: CIVIL JURY TRIALS DURING THE OLYMPICS
Please be advised that Chief Justice Bauman has directed that there will be no civil jury trials held in Vancouver from February 8, 2010 to February 26, 2010. Any civil jury trial presently scheduled for that period will be rescheduled. The Supreme Court will remain open for non-jury matters during this period. Additional information about this direction may be obtained here.

Bauman, a judge of the Court of Appeal of British Columbia, as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. The Supreme Court of British Columbia announces that the Honourable Chief Justice Brenner retired from the Supreme Court at Vancouver on September 7, 2009.

NOTICE: PRACTICE DIRECTION - APPEARANCE LIST
Chief Justice Brenner has issued a Practice Direction which is designed to facilitate the recording of appearances on applications in certain civil proceedings.
Effective October 1, 2009, applicants in applications arising from certain civil proceedings must submit a list of all parties and the names of all counsel appearing for a party to the court prior to the commencement of a hearing. This Practice Direction has been issued to assist court clerks in accurately recording appearances.
